Roscoe P. Speaks Out

Friday, January 13, 2006

Well, it's been quite a while since I last got a minute at mom's computer. I have been really busy. I have learned to bard excessively when someone rings the doorbell, knocks at the door (or on any wooden item of furniture in the house), and when the doors open or close. I have learned how to spray every plastic trash or grocery bag that is brought into the house and so on! I have learned that I do not like being locked into the laundry room when mom and dad leave but it is lots nicer than getting in trouble when I pee on the carpet at the old house. I like the new house, lots to explore and a really HUGE yard. No fence yet but I stay pretty close to mom cause she is constantly telling me that the chicken hawks will swoop down and carry my stupid butt away! I think I will listen cuz I don't relish the thought of being pecked into the sharp beak of a large bird and taken away from my food bowl! haha Well, the move has gone well for me anyway, and I love the hardwood floors in the house. I love to chase my toys when they throw them and slide down the floors till I hit something to stop me, usually the wall! GREAT FUN!!! Gotta go for now, have a great weekend!

It's Thanksgiving! That means a trip camping. Not sure where we are going this year cuz of all the hurricane damage done to the place we normally go. Waiting to find out. I am assuming I am going that is....Mom doesn't usually go anywhere without me when they start packing and piling stuff. My sister (the older one and her husband are going to stay at the house and feed the zoo) Glad I won't be here! Well, I will definitely let you know how it goes and what kind of excitement happens along the way.

ps. I knew something was up when Mom took me to the groomers to shave my belly. I don't know why? I kinda like the yellow hair that my leg hiking creates. It makes her really mad.

Today I turn 1 year old. I am so excited. I don't know why! Nothing out of the ordinary happened. I got a bath, oh yeah, and I did get some knew food. It was pretty good. I was supposed to go and get some shots but Mom said that it would'nt be fair to get shots on my birthday so we will wait till next week.

Please pray for me. I was born Chryptorchid. (I only have 1...well you know.....) It changes things abit. They won't be able to breed me now cuz my kids (the boys) could have the same thing. I an not showable because I only have 1 dropped. The other one is somewhere in my abdomen. It will cost lots of money to get me taken care of now instead of the original "fix me" price of $75 dollars, it is gonna be somewhere around $350. Not fair. I didn't ask to be born this way. Oh well, my Mom loves me and that's all that matters.

I am sorry it has been so long since I've written. I have been gone alot with my family. They have been taking me camping alot. I really enjoy it and they are really nice with the treats when they are on coming and going and constantly leaving me alone in the trailer. I think I heard them call this a vacation. It wasn't a vacation for me! I had less space to make them throw my bone and other toys and when I wanted to go outside they hooked me on a long leash that was around a tree and when the deer came up to our camp, I could'nt quite reach them. I tried and tried but to no avail. My mom took me to the place where all the people were wearing alot less clothes and took me out into the water there. I was afraid. I didn't know what was happening, but before I even realized what was happening, I was moving my front and back legs back and forth very fast and I was moving. Mom said, "Good boy, you are swimming"! I didn't care what she called it I was just trying to get back to shore. Well, we were there for quite a while and I started to get cold so mom got in dads truck, and drove me back to the camper. Guess what?! Cold wet things are made even worse when you walk into a trailer with the AC set on 72. It is a big camper but, still, confined space for the cold air!!!! I thought I was going to turn into a frozen doggy pop! I did survive, cuz my mom, she wrapped me in a towel and dried me off pretty good and then combed my hair and then told me somthing that hurt my feelings. "Roscoe", she said, " I am going back to the swimming hole, we'll be back in a little bit. Behave yourself". And with that, she left me.........Again! I survived. I did leave them message though. I like to eat things, anythings, stuff off the floor, jewelry, paper and anything that is small enough for me to hide in my mouth when they are trying to get it out! Apparently something didn't like my tummy and decided to come back out! In a hurry! All over their bed, some magazines and books they were reading and all over the little girls sleeping bag and stuff. I got even!
Then they came back, my mom started crying and I was starting to feel pretty bad. She was moaning that it was all in the heater vent and all over the vent itself. Ok, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, she's not listening! She's hunched over the vent and using something that she's turning and turning.......I'm getting dizzy just watching. Oh, the vent. Man that smells bad. Moms a sympathy puker too. Should be interesting! hehe
Ok what's not so funny is that I was next. I guess she thought that since she'd had to clean just about everything else in the bedroom, I had to be next. I tried telling her that I got it all out, that there was nothing left and none of it landed on me but I guess she was still pretty upset cuz she started removing my collar and I know what that means.......a bath! I don't really care for them cuz I'm so thin, I get cold really quick and she is really good about keeping me warm and all but still the water gets in my eyes and she rubs stuff all over me and so on...
Oh well, I'll survive. Time for more fun on this vacation! I sure hope she doesn't expect me to go down the river with them!!!!!! Ain't gonna happen in this lifetime!!!

I am not really sure what is so great about this particular day but from the reactions of mom and dad, it is something special. I know that my mom prays alot or at least that's what she tells my tormentor all the time. She says, Kaylee, you need to give mommy time to finish her prayers! Anyway, today we got the van loaded and (even though she's not supposed to drive just yet) we went to the local mall for an event I don't understand. Alot of moms family and many friends all showed up with food that they would'nt let me eat, drinks and games they would'nt let me share and I had to sit in a lap or in my bed at the back of the van, (No, my mom did'nt leave me in there, the back was open so people could sit and play with me)! We were there for hours and hours and they ate, visited and loved on me, which was great! All of a sudden, the lights went out all around the parking lot and people started yelling and mom began to pray for all the soldiers fighting battles for us to observe this special day. I am not sure what she meant but she really meant it. There were tears in her eyes and then..............BOOM!!!! BOOM!!!!!!!!!! It was crazy, people yelling, loud booms everywhere, children laughing and "Ooooohhhing and Ahhhhing" like they were enjoying this display. Mom kept petting me and to be honest, I really liked all the pretty lights and loved all the attention I was getting so I didn't even make a sound. Mom says we should pray everyday for the soldiers and our government because they are doing so much for us and they need every prayer warrior to talk to God on their behalves. I guess if she says so, it must be so. I have'nt any reason to doubt her so far. I hope you all have a terrific holiday and that you remember all of those who have died for our freedom and those who are still fighting to preserve it. Amen
